Hydraulic Motor Casting Leak Testing

Market driver:

Many off-road vehicles and trucks use hydraulic cylinders to move heavy objects. Hydraulic systems consist of pumps, piping, fittings, cylinders and other components.

Test requirement:

Hydraulic components operate typically at high pressure with oil as the operating fluid. Incorporating oil into the manufacturing process for testing of these components is messy and takes time to find small leaks that affect their operation.

CTS solution:

Cincinnati Test System engineered a pressure decay leak test stand using a Sentinel I24 dual pressure instrument to clamp and seal on various configuration hydraulic pumps. The Sentinel I24 conducts a sequential low pressure test on the outboard shaft seal and a high pressure test on the pump shell tand inboard shaft seal. These air tests are sensitive, clean, and fast meeting the desired production rate.
